About Us

Hi. My name is Kevin and I am the author of this site.

As a “newbie” do-it-yourselfer, I created AllThumbsDIY.com to pass on some of my DIY project knowledge I gained over the years to my fellow DIY pioneers.

I have over 16+ years of attempting various home improvement projects, but I continue to learn new DIY methods everyday!

One of the most frustrating thing in the beginning for me was that sites like ThisOldHouse, BobVilla and DIYNetwork provided awesome projects and they made those projects look soooo simple!

When I tried to replicate one of their projects, I almost always spent more time, more money and more trips to Home Depot, Lowes and other hardware and lumber stores to get the project done.

What I soon learned was that because these projects were being done by professionals with years of experience, I simply had to take more time to learn the process before attempting any projects.

So as a way of “paying forward” on behalf of selfless members from DoItYourself, DIYchatroom and other forums, I tried to capture exact steps that made my DIY project a success (or in some cases a failure) as a newbie DIYer.

I hope you can glean some useful information here to make your project a successful one!

If you have suggestions, better idea to a problem or have some cool project ideas, please use the contact us page to let us know.

Lastly, DIY projects can be dangerous, especially if a project involves fire/heat, electricity and/or heavy equipment, so I cannot stress enough that you need to double or even triple check all information BEFORE attempting your DIY project.

Enough about me, now let’s get to work!
