Unless you like repairing large holes in a wall, running any types of wires behind a wall takes a lot of planning.
I found a great article on dropping wiring in-wall from an attic at Home Theater Shack (click here if the link is broken for a PDF copy).
Although the instructions are for home theater wiring, I use almost identical steps to pull new electrical wires as well.
