Symptom
The display on your Maytag washer (model MHW5100DW) is showing F8, E1 or LO-FL error code and the door is locked
Possible Causes
If the washer has an F8, E1 or LO FL error, the door is probably be locked and the control will not be responsive.
- Check to make sure that both hot and cold water supply lines are turned ON
- Make sure that drain hose is installed correctly and not kinked
- If using anti-floor device,, make sure it has not been triggered
To Clear the Error Code
Press and hold down the power button for 3 seconds. The washer will start the draining routing which will take appxoimately 8 to 10 minutes to complete.
At this time, washer’s pump will run continuously and will not accept any other input.
Please wait approximately 10 minuites before performing any functions.
To remove the error display, press Power once. Then press Power again to restart the washer.
If none of these steps are working, unplug the power cord to washer, wait 3 minutes, then plug it back in.
